Some ppl are veg-an b/c they disagree with the methods used in industrial agriculture. This includes ethical reasons (ugly like Meet Your Meat) or the environmental damage caused (like waste lagoons, pesticide runoff). They are free to boycott a business whose practices they object to. =)
Also the way animals are raised fills them w/ growth hormones, too much fat, etc. Some ppl switch to the Mediterranean diet or veg-ism for health purposes (e.g. reduce cholesterol intake).
