Are uncle eddies vegan cookies contributing to the assassination of chimps? /deforestation?

I heard somewhere that the Palm fruit oil used ti make uncle eddies vegan cookies contributes to deforestation as well as killing chimpanzees somewhere in South America. I want to know if this is true and where people are getting this info. If this turns out to be true, I am willing to give up eating these cookies.
Ok not South America, but deforestation in general.

Perhaps a letter to them is in order. I’d be curious to know as well…
