Is this a good multivitamin for a lacto-ovo vegetarian?

http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=43209&catid=59410&aid=335933&aparam=gnc_pharmassure_womens_b

I'm fifteen; a lacto-ovo vegetarian; and I'm positive that I do not get enough Vitamin C, Vitamin A, or Iron on a daily basis. I've never even heard of half of the Vitamins and things in this multivitamin, and I was just wondering if this would be a suitable choice, as I need to begin taking a multivitamin as soon as possible.

There is a company called VegLife, and all of their stuff is even vegan friendly (no animal by-products at all).

For foods, try any antioxidant juice like blueberry, pomegranate, or even cherry for your Vitamin C. Dulse flakes can be sprinkled into anything (I put mine on my toast, in my oatmeal, or even in the pancakes I am making) for extra iron that is easily used by the body. And add molasses in your stuff where you want to sweeten something to get the extra calcium you will also need. Their is enough protein and nutrients in eggs (nature's most perfect food) and in dairy (not good for the body: immune system is comprimised: do you have asthma? bronchitis a lot? or even stiff joints? go off of dairy for three weeks and see if it clears up. Then you know you are allergic to dairy).

Can a vegetarian eat something cooked in the same oil as meat?

May 6, 2009 by admin

I found this website that helps vegetarians with fast-food, and it warns that some restaurants cook vegetarian dishes in the same oil as the rest of their food. Is that a warning to all vegetarians or just some, like vegans?

it really just depends on what kind of vegetarian you are. some just dont eat meat directly, but may have soups and such with chicken broth, or they pick the pepperoni off the pizza type of people. others eat nothing that come in contact with meat. at all. they ask workers to change their glovers between orders and cannot consume meat in any way at all. then the vegan eat nothing that comes from animals. from what ive learned, most really strict vegetarians, not vegans, have been that veges since birth, so meat consumption would have actual negative affects on the body. the others just prefer to not eat meat and care a little less about indirect consumption. but it really just depends on the persons beliefs

What are reasons people become Lacto ovo vegetarians?

May 3, 2009 by admin

I am going to become a lacto ovo vegetarian and I really care about animals I am an animal right activist in some way BUT what are some other reasons people can become vegetarian besides animal rights?

Besides animal rights, I would say the two biggest reasons are health and environmentalism.

Vegetarian diets can be just as unhealthy as meat diets, but if you eat real food (veggies, fruits, legumes, whole grains) vs. vegetarian junk food (french fries and Coke are vegetarian…), it is very good for you. Also, too much animal protein is bad for you in many ways.

Vegetarian diets are good for the environment because they are more efficient. It takes a lot more water and land to feed livestock per pound of meat produced compared to what it takes to produce a pound of plant food. Plants also don't put out all the methane that pollutes our environment and damages the ozone layer. In fact, plants clean our air, so in addition to not causing harm, they actually actively help clean up harm done by other pollutants.
