“A Little bit about being a Vegan” by Kevin P. Harloff
*Leave on and read the annotations for this post: they are important for this video!
**Remember to eat well-balanced meals from the whole spectrum of colors of veggies, fruits, nuts, legumes, soy products, wheat and whole grains, and other non-animal sources if you are a Vegan or Vegetarian, as well as take a good mulitvitamin. Diet and nutrition take research, time, and energy.
***Again I am not a Doctor, a Registered Dietitian, nor a Licensed Nutritionist, I do not have the accredition to be a food mentor–I am just an individual explaining my experience with Veganism, my diet, and exercise.
Definition of Vegan:
“[T]he word “veganism” denotes a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude — as far as is possible and practical — all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.” (from the Vegan Society–I don’t know who this society is, but this is what wikipedia gave me.) My definition of Vegan: Someone who does not exploit, kill, harm, eat, or use animals for their own life or personal gain–one who does not eat any animal products including meat, eggs, poulty, fish, diary, honey (if you have a question about this one–google honeybees and understand why honeybees are so important and the danger we are having with their existence here in America right now), or anything else that is, was, or comes from an animal.
Here is my long overdue video about my experience as a Vegan thus far–it’s been almost three years now. I had promised myself and others that I would make a Vegan video so here it is.
The supplements that are in this video, the protein shakes and such, are for my bodybuilding. A person who is not into weightlifting or growing muscles does not need to take these supplements–they can eat soy products or complement their meals to get the correct amount of amino acids, or protein(s) needed.
I want to make it clear I chose not to eat animals because I believe it is ethically incompatible with my philosophy of living; I do not eat animals because it is undeniably terrible the way animals are treated and slaughtered; I do not eat animals because I like animals and I don’t want to ingest them; and I don’t eat animals because I believe a plant based diet is the healthiest for the human being.
If you have any questions on being a Vegan, Veganism, Vegetarianism, life, music, or anything else feel free to leave a comment or message me.

VEGAN. For the People. For the Planet. For the Animals.
People everywhere are making choices more connected with their values.
We are simplifying our lives, buying less and living more because we know that the Earth provides enough to satisfy everyone’s need, but not everyone’s greed.
But there is one connected choice that sometimes gets overlooked. It’s one of the most far-reaching personal, practical and ethical choices you can make. With this choice we can help…
… feed ourselves and every hungry person on the planet.
… end deforestation — replenish the deep woods of the North and save our disappearing rainforests.
… revitalize our rural landscapes and save family farms.
… stop the number one polluter of water and the number one waster of water.
… return our oceans to thriving underwater worlds teeming with life and wonder.
… make cancer and heart disease a rarity instead of a common occurrence.
… stop the unnecessary suffering of billions and billions of animals.
… and return wild lands to their rightful owners.
This powerful choice can be done by everyone every day… by you… right now.
Vegan.
Every day you are invited to make choices. Live your values. Change the world.
It’s that simple.

Alex Pacheco began making headlines at the age of 21 by closing down the first laboratory in the U.S. on charges of cruelty to animals. As co-founder and Chairman of PETA for 20 years, he was responsible for expanding it into the world’s most recognizable animal rights charity. To date, he has been responsible for raising over $128 million for charity in donations alone. He is well-known for leading a 15-year battle to save a band of crippled lab animals called “The Silver Spring Monkeys.” His picture and articles have appeared in each edition of Animal Times for the last 20 years. In 1999, Alex became President of All American Animals and Humane America, the creator of 1-800-SAVE-A-PET.com. Please visit www.ArConference.org and www.AllAmericanAnimals.com
