the whole idea of ” …
the whole idea of “you need nutrients from this and that, and you can’t get it from fruits, etc etc” no offense..is quite ridiculous.
I mean once you go fruits, you go raw, and when you go raw, your dietary needs change too.
When you eat cooked, you will no doubt have fixed nutritional needs, since cooked….well..for a certain population of people..it does screw them over without realizing it.
eating cooked is like being addicted to cigarettes..that’s all I’m aware of.
I agree with …
I agree with getting back to nature, no doubt about it. And awesome that you’re a vegan. I’m currently a vegetarian and I’ve been off cheese for months which was my biggest hump towards going vegan.
My arguments might …
My arguments might have an echo of the meat-based diet’s argument, except I know that you don’t need meat to get all the stuff you need, you can get them in nature. What I’d like to know is what 80% of fruit is doing in my body.
I’m not trying to say fruitarianism is bad, I just want to know what is going on with the body with this diet. I like to know what my food is doing to me.
I found out that olives prevent breast and colon cancer, and keep the arteries from hardening.
I’m not saying that …
I’m not saying that animals are lesser beings. I’m saying that every form has its function. Did you know that people are darker skinned by the equator and get lighter skinned the her you get from the equator? The skin is darker as a defense against the sun.
I apologize if I sound condescending, but you weren’t peaches and cream yourself.
Its also partly when I think of fruitarianism I think of someone eating mostly dessert and very little meals, not to offend.
And another thing. …
And another thing. I went vegan in 1994. It took me this long to go high fruit. Even though I knew from thinking naturallly, that it’s right, I had to look at it, and fruitarians, closely, like you did.
See the Dr Graham interview before replying back, so you have an idea where I’ve been.
I know the …
I know the long-term effects of the other ways of eating. Others may think disease and dying at 74 is normal, but I can see past that conditioning.
Sounds like you think a meat-based diet is normal, and thats why people eat that way. Humans are very advanced, and far removed from natural. The typical diet is out of balance. They can do it DISPITE the imbalance because the body can create the balance it needs. But by age 40, it catches up with them. I’m 41: I look 20 and no sickness.
The condecending …
The condecending tone is uncalled for. I’ve been scientifically minded for all my 41 years. But this isn’t complicated. humans see themselves as uniquely different only because they’re biased(they’re human). Example: White people once thought black people were not human. Biologically, were about the same. Same with all us primates. But in the end, it doesn’t matter how you get nutrients – you get them. It just matters that the food is in harmony with the digestive tract.
Doesn’t the …
Doesn’t the emphasis on fruit throw that balance out of whack? Can you get everything you need in that 80% fruit and 20% seeds/nuts/veggies?
And I shouldn’t have to remind you that there is a difference between a gorilla or orangutan and a human. There is a reason they are not humans, and one of the key things in science is that form=function. Why is their form not exactly like ours? Because they are not capable of some things.
You haven’t looked …
You haven’t looked to see what the long-term affects might be for those people? I would consider looking into it before blindly taking on such life changes.
I’ve looked at the vegetarianism closely before choosing it, and the way people can do it is because they need a balanced diet that provides them with the right nutrients, vitamins, etc..
I haven’t bothered …
I haven’t bothered to look, since I already know of some people doing it long-term(and millions of gorillas, orangatans, etc).
Fruitarianism is difined as >80% fruit, and can include seed, nuts and veggies. People do it because it’s the most natual primate diet. No more science is needed.
“Experts” and ” …
“Experts” and “doctors” are used synonymously. Either way, do you have data from a dietitian that supports this way of life?
See vids by Richard …
See vids by Richard Blackman and Dr Doug Graham.
And Look up Charlies gym
To NOT live like this is ridiculous. Only habit and mis-info would keep someone from their right diet and happy life.
Doctors are not …
Doctors are not dietitions. The fact that people think doctors know all about health, shows that the medical ind has brainwashed the public.
On the other hand: The most famous fruitarian is a doctor – Doug Graham.
happy fruit-eating
you’re very …
you’re very inspirational. i am transitioning and this is great for me to watch! i plan to purchase your book too, a transitioning fruitarian told me it was great.
Dear Mother4Earth,
…
Dear Mother4Earth,
thank you for your replies.
I feel that each of us has to find the dietary path that works best for us personally.
Only ourself can find that way, no one else knows us like we do ourself!
I am blessed that the fruit diet also satisfies my ethical beliefs.
I am sure your grandmother lived very much in-tune with her environment and had a great respect for it.
Love and Peaches XX.
But, I would like …
But, I would like to add, that I got very upset and felt very bad when I found out that all raw/fruitarian wasn’t for me. I felt so godd initially but in time lost my reading vision, felt weak (?) iriritated, started to loose concentration, teeth etc. So, that’s why i had to do something and found paleo. My grand mother was a Samee Native from Lapland; strong, vigorius and she ate fish, meat, fats. Never sick, always on the go. It must mean something to eat this way (W. Price)? Love & Peace
Hi Anne, thank you …
Hi Anne, thank you for your response. Yes, I am a bit concerned. When I was a raw foodist I did experience some health problems and since I stopped eating fruit, I don’t have any pain in my gums and teeth. I turned back to a paleo diet and found a more sustainable strength and stamina, no more pains etc. Catching up on anthropology has been very intriguing. I study the nature and diet of The Swiss, Inuits, Eskimoes, Hunza, Massai. Still today, no ancient vegetarian society has been found.
Dear Mother4earth,
…
Dear Mother4earth,
it sounds like you are concerned that the fruitarian diet does not contain all one needs for health.
All I can say is you have to go with what works for you personally.
I have worked at hard physical jobs whilst eating fruit and had plenty of energy.
I also came in first out of 4,000 people whilst on a walkathon (after 9 years on fruit) many people were younger than myself. I feel this would not have been possible if my diet were lacking.
I feel very well.
Love and peace.
Dear Sadbrwneyes989 …
Dear Sadbrwneyes989,
you will probably find that most people in the allopathic medical field will not agree with a fruitarian diet.
It does not resonate with the lifestyle they preach.
I would say, as with anything, you can only really experience it for yourself.
Try it and see if it is working for you.
I have been on this diet for 17 years and have excellent health—so it works for me.
Find what really works for you, by your own experience ♥
I want nothing less than great health every day.
I’m working to be a …
I’m working to be a vegetarian and I’m doing well and loving it, but I understood that fruitarianism wasn’t healthy as well as discouraged. Do you have any websites that say otherwise? Preferably from doctors?
Hello, that’s good. …
o, that’s good. it would be interesting to let us now how much of your muscles will stay with you, because it is not all about excercise. You will probably experince protein deficiencie although there are some protein in fruits. But the cases reproting negative effects ona purely raw fruitarian diet are to many to be ignored. Please keep close check on how your body will react long term. If you start loose muscle and strength etc, you must modifie your diet. Don’t forget the inuits…..
yeah, i’m vegan and …
yeah, i’m vegan and i’m primarily eating raw foods now, switching to a fruitarian diet. it is about exercise like rawfitchris said. I am muscular, six pack, abs, biceps, pecks, triceps, hamstrings etc. because I exercise every morning. But god willing I will get closer to a complete fruitarian diet.
Grains cause all …
Grains cause all these problems. Lactose intolerance in fact is often related to gluten sensivity which every human being has.
Diet alone does not …
Diet alone does not give you a firm strong physique. The best way is to exercise your large muscle groups progressively with weights. If those people one viewer above mentioned put some effort and planning into a simple yet hard routine a few days per week, they would get into shape.
Hi, I’ve been …
Hi, I’ve been watching and following fruitarians and raw vegans over the net for some time now and i cannot help wondering a few things; why they all seem so weak and why their eyes looks so empty and lost? And why this abscence of muscle tone? I think Ann is 42 but she looks older, so does Kulvinskas, Cousens. I think, as before, that something is missing in their diet. I truly hope she is feeling well and strong because it doesn’t looks that way here. Peace,
Excellent video! I wish I could get all those delicious exotic fruits here in Southern US.
Great goods from you, man. I have understand your stuff previous to and you’re just too excellent. I actually like what you’ve acquired here, certainly like what you’re saying and the way in which you say it. You make it enjoyable and you still care for to keep it sensible. I cant wait to read much more from you. This is actually a terrific website.
