It’s never too late to change your eating habits, but before you make changes, learn the most common diet and nutrition mistakes in order to avoid them.

Here are people’s most common diet issues:

1.Don’t think your food choices are more beneficial to you than they really are. People who are very choosy about diet and nutrition are more likely to believe that their food choices are healthier than they really are. It is always a good idea to eat whole, fresh, and unprocessed foods whenever possible.  Don’t pretend that because you had a reasonable lunch, its time for an all-out dinner extravaganza.

2. Aim for reasonable portion sizes. You can eat almost anything if you are careful about the amount. One of the most common mistakes people make is that they overestimate or misjudge the amount of food they need.

3. Carbohydrates are not evil. When diet people ramble on about “bad carbs” this mean things like white flour, sugar and processed white rice. Good carbs would are foods like fresh fruits, vegetables and  wholegrain bread. It is better to stay away from bad carbs but not necessarily the good ones.

4. Eat 4-5 small meals a day vs 1-2 larger ones. Overeating and eating only 1-2 times day may put an individual’s health at risk because it interferes with insulin levels. It is better to keep your metabolism revved up with 4-5 small meals a day instead of 1-2 large meals. Your body is a very finely tuned machine that decides its starving and should conserve energy if too much time passes between meals.Try to eat something every 2-3 hours and don’t allow yourself to get overly hungry before your next meal.

5. Try to work out frequently. It is impossible to ignore  the power of regular exercise for people who want to achieve top notch health and fitness.Make exercise a regular part of your life and it will assuredly contribute to your overall wellness. Click here to learn how to lose weight fast
