There are many vegan only associations and websites. Is there any such thing as a lacto/ovo ONLY vegetarian association or website?
Try looking for ovo-lacto vegetarian. When I was growing up, that’s what we were called. Not lacto ovo, which does not roll off the tongue. There are quite a few sites for us out there. And ovo-lacto or lacto ovo is not a redundant statement. Most vegetarians that I know do not eat dairy. I don’t drink milk but could if I wanted to, it’s just that the government allows milk to come from diseased cows. So I don’t want it.

There’s no need to say lacto/ovo vegetarian, that’s redundant. If you said vegetarian it would already be assumed that you’re using dairy and eggs.

I’ve been vegetarian for.. 18 years (had to think about it). I typically only hear the lacto ovo lingo when someone who eats chicken or fish wants to talk about how vegetarian they are.
I think it’s redundant in the textbook definition of vegetarian.. But can be used to contrast between vegan and vegetarian. I understand the importance.. Some say milk and eggs are more cruel than meat. I keep it simple. There’s already a lot of confusion even with the 2 veg*n labels.
I stopped going with a label awhile ago, unless I really need it.. Now I just tell ppl I don’t feel like eating meat. My own Spy Game.

I love the idea about just telling people you don’t feel like eating meat – brilliant! It really makes it simple… thanks for sharing it!
