Frustrated About Not Losing Fat?

First comes the decision to lose weight. Then comes the realization that to achieve fat loss and permanent weight loss, you will need to exercise. Next comes research into the exercise options that you can do. Lastly, you must decide upon the exercise regimen that you will do and then you must do it.

If you you want to achieve fat loss and permanent weight loss, you must also address your diet.

Experts agree that fat burning exercise has a bigger impact on fat loss and weight loss than diet. This is because when you do regular exercise, you increase your metabolism. An increase in your metabolism will result in more fat burning for you thoughout every day. If you want to achieve fat loss, you are also going to need to change your diet.

Does The Exercise You Do, Burn Fat?
You will burn fat by doing activities that require exertion from you, for a long enough period of time. What is exertion for me is not necessarily exertion for you. The more fit you are, the greater the rate of activity you will need to do. Fitness trainers provide formulas to work out the right level of exertion for you. However these can be cumbersome. A simple rule of thumb to guide you on this is the following

  • Are you somewhat out of breath from the activity (not gasping for air)?
  • When you feel the back of your neck and small of your back, is there some sweat?
  • While exercising, can you hold a conversation with someone?

Your exercise will likely result in fat loss, when the three points above are adhered to. You will become more fit as you exercise more. The rate of your exercise will need to increase to burn fat, as you become more fit.

What Are The Different Types Of Fat Burning Exercise?
Exercise is considered to be either anaerobic or aerobic. Some people refer to aerobic exercise as cardio vascular exercise. Aerobic exercise needs oxygen for energy, whereas anaerobic doesnt.

Aerobic exercise burns fat from your body because your body uses fat as the source of energy it needs. While doing anaerobic exercise, your body does not use fat for its energy. During anaerobic exercise, your body gets its energy from carbohydrates.

Aerobic exercise can be enjoyable for you if you like to jog, swim, bike ride or walk rapidly. Examples of anaerobic exercise are strength and resistance training or running a 100 meter or 200 meter race etc. When you play a game of tennis, it can be aerobic and anaerobic. You will be exerting yourself completely for a period of time. At those times it is anaerobic. At other times you are exerting yourself less so, and it is aerobic.

For best fat burning results from aerobic exercise, you should do at least 30 minutes of it every day. If you increase the time you spend doing your aerobic exercise, you will increase your fat burning.

If you want to burn more fat, you can do strength training, which is anaerobic exercise.  It results in increased muscle mass, which burns fat faster. Your metabolism will increase as you add more muscle to your body. Fat burning will increase, when you raise your metabolic rate. But, you need to know that fat burning doesnt happen during anaerobic exercise. You will burn fat while doing aerobic exercise.

Do You Want To See Less Fat On Your Body When You Look At A Mirror?
You really do not have a choice about whether or not to exercise; you must exercise for fat loss to occur. If you dont, you will not achieve your fat loss and weight management objectives. It requires a lifetime commitment to using your body much more than you have been using it.

You can make a start by using the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator. You can increase the amount of walking that you do, by parking your car a bit further away from where you are going. You can take your dog for an extra walk each day. Increase your physical activity, by finding things to do that are out of the ordinary for you.

Now you are at the point when you must make your decision on your exercise regimen and make a start on it.

What Exercise Routine Are You Going To Follow?
There is a lot to know before deciding upon the best exercise regimen to burn fat for you. Noone can tell you that a particular exercise program is good or bad. You want to find and follow an exercise program that you like to do and that is effective for you.

It is important that you make the best decision for you. If you get it wrong, it will lead to frustration and upset, because you wont make progress or the amount of progress you want to make. It could even lead you to abandoning your weight loss efforts.

Will you do an aerobic routine or an anaerobic routine? Or will both be a part of your exercise program? What types of aerobic exercise burn fat most efficiently?
