Can lacto ovo vegetarians eat this?

Is it okay for vegetarians(lacto ovo vegetarians) to eat mono and diglycerides? I heard that those two things were animal fat or something like that. I am just making sure.

Mono and diglycerides can be vegetable or animal. The easiest thing to do is type in ‘food item] vegetarian and some site will probably come up telling you about that food and if it’s safe or not. Some company web sites will tell you if they use animal products or not. Or you can e-mail/call the company.

Well they can be animal or vegetable. So just check the label.

But for the future, when you hear the word ANIMAL in something youre questioning eating…your best bet is no.

Not that easy. Some are derived from animals, or they can be derived from plants. : /
