What are some good slogans/phrases to support animal rights?

I’m part of an animal rights club at my high school and we’re thinking about making shirts. One of the ideas for it was to have simply just a witty phrase or solgan on it. Me being the terrible thinker i am, have writers block. So do any of you have any ideas of some that support either animal rights or vegetarianism?

What party are the best in terms of animal rights?

I am not sure on who to vote for in the uk elections this year. I want to vote for a party who care the most about animal welfare. I know this is the green party but I think that would be a waste of a vote because i really doubt they will win. Let me put it in an easier format to understand:

Party A) Has the experience and policies to get us out of the credit crunch, save our NHS and build public confidence back into government

Party B) does not care about the above but has a policy for providing free prosthetic legs for injured hedgehogs involved in hit and run’s?

Why not do a bit of research into the individual candidates to find the most animal friendly one in your constituency. I contacted my MP regarding fox hunting a few years ago – he opposed it and was very supportive and very helpful and kept me up to date with what was going on. Shame I hadn’t actually voted for him! ;-$

Otherwise I think we just have to keep our voices heard for the animals because none of the parties actually gives two hoots.

I’m doing a huge research project for my journalism class and i chose animal rights and animal testing as my research topic… I have been trying to find some reliable sites containing information about animal rights and animal testing, pretty much anything related to animal rights and animal testing would be great, so if you know any good sites answer my question. Do NOT go to PETA. Those people are nuts. They don’t even think that people should keep cats and dogs as pets.

Here is the NIH’s page on alternatives to animal testing. It’s not as theatrical, but it is way more accurate.

Here is a TIME magazine article on the MIMIC system. It is an artificial immune system in a test tube. It allows the scientists involved in vaccine development to do faster, more accurate work. It also replaces a few steps in the process that had previously been performed on animals. MIMIC is a good example of an alternative to animal testing. We don’t have alternatives to animal testing in general–we use too many different types of animals for too many different types of things–but we do sometimes find an alternative to this test here or that test there.

Oh! And here’s a NIH manual on how scientists are supposed to treat the animals they’re using.

What you do you guys think about animal rights?

Welll for my english III class i have to write a paper about a controversial issue and i chos animal rights and how some animal rights are being ignored by animal experimentaion and all that stuff.
What else could i add to my paper that is related to animal rights?

Animal "experimentation" is necessary, at least in a medical sense. However, if you’re going to site as a reason for animal rights, then look up the thalidomide children, and I guess you could say that it shows how ineffective animal testing is. HOWEVER, the thalidomide testing was very inaccurate, and the drug was never tested on pregnant mammals, resulting in the horrific birth defects in thalidomide children. If you’re going to be serious about this topic, focus on regulations for animal testing, heavier sentences and fines for animal cruelty, and better treatment of farm animals (no more cramming them into small cages, and crushing their heads with baseball bats, etc.).

How Can I Motivate My Pets To Support Animal Rights?

I’ve been trying to get my pets to help support the animal rights movement but they show no interest at all. I realize that we’re still in somewhat of a recession, but I think it’s absurd that it’s been over four years and they still haven’t gotten a job. My dog never leaves the house and my cat disappears for days at a time. I think they’re on drugs or something. How can I motivate them to pull themselves together and make something of their lives?

Same, same. I am using this information for a SC resolution. To cut/abolish animal rights and wildlife preserve funds.
