What is the solution to stray dogs menace when animal rights activists are against killing or injuring them?

There a number of dogs on every street, especially at nights, and they bark at and chase the people passing by posing risk to the safety of the local residents. But animal rights activists are totally against the dogs being killed. And sterilising them will not do any help in controlling them. What do we do?

Well. Apparently, you local animal control isn’t doing their job. They should be taking the dogs off the street and taking them to a pound. I don’t necesarily agree with pounds, but at least they’re being fed, and they’re safe there. If the dog has an owner, then the pound can contact them.

And any person with common sense and compassion wouldn’t want a dog being killed, just for the sole fact it may have a home. Its kinda harsh the way you worded that. You wouldn’t like it if we took all of our homeless in america and shot them would you? Well, it’s basically the same thing.

People are beginning to realize the pet population is getting a little bit out of control, but that is not the animals fault, it’s the lack of responsibilty with the owner.

Making it a law that only state recognized breeders can have dogs that are not spayed or neutered. When a dog is found out that isn’t spayed, the owner should be fined 500.00.

Strays have no owners usually, so you can’t fine anyone! If you have animal control, then call them. It sounds like nobody else on your block is too concerned. If they aren’t bothering you, then I wouldn’t do much. I see them all the time by me, and I toss scraps to them. They don’t bother anybody and usually just looking for food.

Sterilizing does help. It prevents the problem from persisting in the future. Any "dangerous" dogs should be collected in sanctuaries, and kept in as good conditions as possible until they die a natural death.

Of course, sanctuaries need funds…so it would help if you give a donation.
