What are some good reliable sites concerning animal rights?

I’m doing a huge research project for my journalism class and i chose animal rights and animal testing as my research topic… I have been trying to find some reliable sites containing information about animal rights and animal testing, pretty much anything related to animal rights and animal testing would be great, so if you know any good sites answer my question. Thanks

Do NOT go to PETA. Those people are nuts. They don’t even think that people should keep cats and dogs as pets.

Here is the NIH’s page on alternatives to animal testing. It’s not as theatrical, but it is way more accurate.

Here is a TIME magazine article on the MIMIC system. It is an artificial immune system in a test tube. It allows the scientists involved in vaccine development to do faster, more accurate work. It also replaces a few steps in the process that had previously been performed on animals. MIMIC is a good example of an alternative to animal testing. We don’t have alternatives to animal testing in general–we use too many different types of animals for too many different types of things–but we do sometimes find an alternative to this test here or that test there.

Oh! And here’s a NIH manual on how scientists are supposed to treat the animals they’re using.

Incoming search terms:

  • animal rights information reliable websites
  • creditable websites against animal testing
  • reliable sites for animal rights

PETA, WSPA, RSPCA are the major organisations that aim to eliminate animal cruelty.
Also try http://www.stopanimaltests.com/ because it gives detailed information and examples. http://www.uncaged.co.uk/crueltyfree.htm Is also a good website as it gives a list of cosmetic brands that use animal testing.
    Hope I helped, good luck!
