Plants get stimulated and respond to that stimulus, just as all other chemicals do. It’s just pre-programmed reflexes, not the same as what we call “pain”. The fact that they are living is irrelevant. What matters is an organisms consciousness and sentience. We obviously know that humans can experience pain, and it’s quite obvious that a large amount of animals can also experience pain which is similar to ours. Thus we should take notice of their welfare just as we would our own.

The one thing I have learned from my girlfriend of 13 years is comapsion and tolerence to all life on earth.
